Heinen Delftware is a typical Dutch family business, which began as a hobby in the early 1970's by its founder Jaap Heinen. After time spent in many different locations in the Netherlands the business is now firmly established in Putten where it all began.
Inspired by antique Delftware and Japanese and Chinese Imari porcelain, Jaap Heinen began painting ceramics himself. The business grew when his son Jorrit Heinen, possessing the same creative talent as his father, also became active as a painter. The skills of the trade passed from father to son.
The business manages the traditional production process from beginning to end. Sacks of clay powder arrive at the factory and finished products, fully hand painted, glazed and fired, are sold and admired all over the world.
